Janice and Johnny started the Avon Park Beach Boppers Club in 1994. After attending other dance club events throughout the southeast U.S. for years, their friends suggested that they throw their own dance party; so fourteen years ago with the help of dozens of volunteers from neighboring dance clubs, they put on the first annual Avon Park Beach Boppers Dance Weekend. This year was the 14th year of our annual spring parties which have expanded to include a summer dance weekend each July. There are no club dues and expenses are kept to a minimum for all concerned; whatever is left over goes to charity. You won't find a better bop/swing/shag dance weekend for the money and our DJ's are the best in the country!
